How to remove an object or person from a photo

Brush over an unwanted object, text, or person and let AI fill in the background.

Someone walking through your holiday photo, a cable in a product shot, a date stamp on a screenshot: the magic eraser (inpainting) removes the area you paint and refills it with texture that matches its surroundings.

Steps

1) Upload your photo at /app/magic-eraser. 2) Set the brush size and paint over what you want gone; going slightly past the object's edge looks more natural. 3) Hit 'Erase selection'; if you don't like the result, 'Undo' takes you back. 4) Clean up any leftovers with a second pass, then download.

For the best result

Areas with a plain background (sky, walls, sand, grass) come out almost perfect. Erase large, complex areas in pieces rather than all at once. The model has to guess what's behind very detailed things like faces or text, so it may take a few tries.

The model (MI-GAN) runs entirely in your browser; your photo never leaves your device. On first use, about 28 MB of model data is downloaded and cached by the browser. Erasing and trying is free; downloading costs 1 credit.
